Between 17–26 January 2026, the YouSea Institute team joined the Love Your Ocean event, part of the world’s largest boat and water sports fair, boot Düsseldorf in Germany.
At the exhibition space, they showcased the RISTANC project by inviting visitors to try the Hopscotch game (Slovene: RISTANC) on a course drawn on the floor next to the stand. After jumping their way through the playful challenge, participants could take part in a second activity that encouraged them to reflect on their relationship with the sea. Together with the Association for Culture and Education PiNA, the team prepared special cards with ocean-inspired prompts, inviting visitors to share messages and promises to the sea. The activity offered a glimpse into how people understand the importance of protecting a clean and healthy marine environment. Many responses were truly touching, and highlighted strong environmental awareness among participants.
The team returned home full of inspiration, fresh ideas, and valuable new connections for future collaboration.
